Today, the fort, originally built in the 1680s on the promontory overlooking the city, now houses the administrative headquarters of the University of Nîmes, along with numerous services dedicated to students, classrooms, and a large library. The transformation continues, with the University now equipped with newly renovated classrooms, including two with 153 seats and one with 300 seats, known as the "Amphitheatre." For these spaces, the E5000 – Orlandini Design study benches were selected. Featuring contemporary lines, compositional flexibility, and comfort, the integrated system of chairs and tables is upholstered in recyclable fabric (Oeko-Tex certified) made from 100% FR Trevira CS polyester. The upholstery comes in red, blue, and green, with each colour assigned to one of the three large rooms. The study benches are designed to integrate electrical outlets and are equipped with folding, retractable writing surfaces. The front row panels, reaching the ground, are made of silver laminate, while the structures are coated with silver paint.
