The Mura armchair – winner of the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI award – is essential for conferring elegance and generating a warm and welcoming ambience within the multifunctional complex built in a developing area, about 10 km from the Russian capital
Outside, the glass grid typical of office buildings; inside, a complex mix of functions distributed in welcoming and elegant spaces. Comfortable and soothing is the conference room, a large space where, in addition to the warm tones of the upholstery, the elegance of the compact Mura armchair designed by Gino Gamberini stands out. The historical seat by LAMM – awarded in its original version with the Compasso d’Oro ADI, the oldest and most authoritative award given to design excellence – furnishes and gives character to the large space of the Strotskis Business Center in Shcherbinka, on the outskirts of Moscow.
The context is that of a large office hub located in a 17-storey tower that links up with two other buildings: one dedicated to catering and the other conceived as a leisure centre. A hub, born in a developing area, that aspires to become an example for buildings to come. The complex also includes a restaurant, a brewery, a fitness centre, a 300-seat dining room, a beauty salon, a chemist’s, a service centre, an atelier and a conference room.
The 144-seat hall enjoys the sophisticated refinement of the Mura armchairs. The essential, compact shape, the black leatherette upholstery and the casual sophistication of the seats, arranged in straight rows on tiers, lend a marked elegance to the space. Beauty but also comfort: every single armchair is equipped with double sides, each 30 cm deep. The choice fell on the low-back version. This folds down and is arranged vertically, reducing the overall dimensions when at rest.
